Pay As You Go and Data Plan confusion
Hey folks,
I recently unlocked and jailbroke an old iPhone 2G for my brother. He went to a local AT&T vendor and got himself the cheapest plan he could get
Nation 450 Rollover & 5000 Night/Weekend & Unlimited Mobile-To-Mobile Minutes
This is a pay as you go plan, and the standard data plan on this is something like data per use $2.00/MB
I've never dealt with AT&T (I have T-Mobile on my 3G), so this is my question. The data plan above... is that actually active on his iphone? Or will he be forced to pick another data plan altogether? Could he choose to have his data plan blocked and just use wi-fi?
Thanks for any help offered!

So, okay. One other question. My brother tells me that he sees the big blue E on his iPhone. Does this mean that he can use the Edge network on his phone? Currently he's unable to open a webpage through Safari and receives an error message (I'll have to get the exact message if it helps). Would this have anything to do with APN settings? Or should he just leave well enough alone?

I hope you don't accidentally load a YouTube video with that $2/mb plan
