AT&T iPhone without a data plan?
I recently got my dads old iPhone 3G free his 2 year contract was over. Before that I had a LG Gu without data. I put the sim card in my iPhone and it worked for about 2 weeks, then I got a message from AT&T saying that they had added a data plan. I got them to take it off by putting my sim card back I'm my old phone. Is there a way to make my iPhone tell AT&T that it isn't an iPhone? That way they wouldn't be able to add a data plan. There must be a way to edit the outgoing connections and stop the one to AT&T telling them that I don't have data plan. Thanks in advance, and by the way my iPhone is jailbroken and I will do what ever is necessary to make this work.

I am not sure but maybe unlocking it will do the trick. They still may be able to tell though.

They will always know. You can keep blowing off the messages and hope they dont add one

They have added a data plan twice and I managed to get it off each time though. I cant find an unlock tool that will work on 5.14.02 baseband
Isn't there a number that tells AT&T what kind of phone you have?Last edited by emettsantucci; 11-21-2010 at 03:17 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

Nope. There was a way to spoof it on the original iPhone but not anymore

No its not possible through ifile. They will catch you everytime they do a sweep. You might as well just pay atleast the 15 dollar data and give up fighting lol.( Sb beat me again)
