I just switched from TMobile to ATT and bought Iphone 4. MY question is this since I dont need it unlocked, can I still jailbreak it to get cydia and foher apps? I know there isnt one available right now for the FW but if one comes out. Also i convinced my hubby to go to iphone which he dislikes because of the restriction but do we have to wait for a jailbreak in order to put our own ringtones?

you can put ur own ringtones now without jailbreaking...and yes u can jailbreak without the need to unlock later on

there is a tutorial here somewhere that shows you how to do it. although it will not be done using an iPhone 4, it can still be done rather easily

essentially there are 4 steps

1. make a 30sec sound clip
2. convert to AAC
3. rename from .m4a to .m4r
4. add to itunes & sync the phone

there are various ways to go about it. there is even app for step1,
