iPhone 4 eligibility

hi I will be a new customer to ATT and do qualify to purchase the new iphone 4 at 199... my question is if I went into att and got my 1st gen iphone activate to use for about 2 weeks or so before I ordered the new iphone 4, Would I still qualify for the 199 Price on the 16gb.. considering I only signed a contract for service and not a phone at discounted price.

PS.. I only want to do this to see if I would be able to get unlimited Data for new one.

Yes you can bring your own equipment in and not have to sign a 2 year contract. Then when your ready your can get your ip4 and sign a 2 yr contract then and get the 199 pricing. Keeping the ul data may or may not work when you do it.
