Upgrade from friend?
My friend is upgrading one of his lines for me to get an iphone 4. Once he gets it, can I just activate it with my number?

Once he gets it activated under the eligible line, you can switch it back and then switch your plan accordingly. You'll be fine and good to go

Or he can request them not to activate it in store that he will do it at home.

I guess I didn't leave enough details. I currently have a 3GS with my sim cut to micro sim size with an adapter. Can I just put my sim in the phone and be good to go or can I just activate under my number without him having to activate under his number first. The phone is being shipped to my house and I'm not going to ATT store.

Why not just call at&t and have them activate your number on the new micro-sim card?

I have a question kinda related to this. I got a iPhone 4 cuz my friend upgraded for me and I gave him my 3G. Am I safe to register it through iTunes. Does that have anything to do with AT&T. I'm just using it as a iPod until a unlock comes out
