Default AT&T relaxing on their deposits now for new iPhones?

I have the unlocked iPhone on t-mobile-3 of us do in our house, and about 6 months ago i tried to see if we could switch to AT&T but they wanted a $750 deposit from me for one line!

Well i went online tonight, and it wants 0 deposit! I then called AT&T to confirm, they went through the credit check, and they said 0 Deposit and up to 5 lines no problem!

are they relaxing in the deposits now? I know my credit is not better, as we are in bankruptcy as we speak, but 0 deposit is strange when earlier they wanted so much. Same for my wife, same answers, no deposit!

From what I've read about AT&T Deposits, they require $0 after a bankruptcy.

Straight up ********.. They want a bigger deposit than my apartment from me ($500)

Weird...I don't have the greatest credit at all...
I bought my 3G back in January of 2009, didn't have to deposit anything...maybe because it was an upgrade from a 2G?
