at&t carrier update?

I don't know if I posted this in the right place, but whenever I plug in my Iphone 3gS, iTunes gives me a message saying there's a carrier update available. Is it safe to update with a jailbroken phone? I've read in old posts (2-3 years old) that it was safe. But just making sure

And does anyone what changes have been made with this carrier update?

Carrier updates are safe. They simply update carrier functionality. You can change the carrier ipcc anytime you want by loading another one. I have no clue what is in the new update.

Yes i have a 3gs jailbroken and have done this and it is fine!
