Iphone fixes Data plan to $30 a month instead of $10
I got a text message from my carrier, the first " Did you know an eligible data plan is required for your iPhone? Call 611 or visit att.com/iPhoneplans for details". The second "Your iPhone requires an eligible data plan. We have added the appropriate plan for your iPhone. Call 611 or go to att.com/iPhoneplans for info"
Now how do I put the medianett internet back on there? If anyone knows the solution please tell me.
IF YOU DON'T KNOW OR HAVE SOMETHING NOT USEFUL TO SAY (IE: PAY THE $30 A MONTH) THEN DON'T BOTHER WRITING ANYTHING....
thanks in advance to anyone that knows what to do.

ATT's rules state iPhones require a iPhone data plan. There are ways around it but eventually it will come back around to you again. Not 100% sure on how to get around using the lower plan but there are short lived ways to get around using no data at all.

The $30 plan is only required for the iPhone, you could get a phone that isn't an iphone

If you can get hold of 2G iPhone, you can activate and pay the $20 instead of $30 3GS monthly. It suck but this the only solution I found so far.

And in a couple days of using the iPhone on the network with data they may sweep again and kick it back up and not believe after that.

Ok so today i kinda fixed it but right now this is like a test so.. what i did was while on the iphone called customer service told them that i got a message while i was on a reg phone (this is kinda the truth) saying that it had added the iphone plan... and then they will be like thats weird and that it is a system problem and then they will change the phone... do not swap sims... this seems to mess with there system as i have an iphone package column and it is recognizing it as an iphone but nothing is selected and there is another column for family data unlimited and i have that selected.. this does not show up after the iphone has been seen as an iphone and the data has been added but here it seems that the customer service didnt let it do that because she thought it was a system issue.... Look at the screenshot there should not be the iphone data plan listed with a regular data plan.... I may be wrong
STILL IN TESTING EVERYONE DONT TRY IT YET.... ILL REPORT BACK AS SOON AS THE IPHONE DATA IS ADDED OR IF IT ISNT WITHIN THE NEXT DAY ILL SAYLast edited by iphone?3gs; 04-14-2010 at 08:40 PM.

Yeah so I did the same thing that you did. But instead I called them after I switched the SIMS, put on the unlimited data and then put the sim back in the iphone. and after a few hours got a message stating that I need to have the full iphone plan. So I don't know what we shall do?

lol, you guys try so hard. Don't you think that they have thought of these things? Short of changing the IMEI, your phone will register as an iPhone on their system. From the sound of it, they are getting better at catching people without data plans. I definitely don't agree with their practices, I would love to be able to cancel my data at times. Nothing that you do will change the fact that at the end of the day, you have an iPhone IMEI.
And it will be like a taco inside a taco within a Taco Bell that's inside a KFC that's within a mall that's inside your dream! Springboard screwy after reboot? Here is the fix

AT&T has been doing this to me since last week. Apparently they updated their systems a few weeks ago which better detects your phones. I've changed my plan 3 times already and been caught. I just gave up. The only way to fix this is to somehow switch your imei.
PS.
It takes about 2 days for them to catch you nowLast edited by lili4311; 04-16-2010 at 07:43 AM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

You are right it takes them that long BUT what i did was tell them that it kept showing up as an iphone when i was using a regular phone and there like ok tell us the imei on the phone ur using and i told them one for a eternity and they were all like that not what the system says, but it must be an error and sorry for the problems and then they said that they would fix it and not let it happen again and it didnt....

heres a tip guys, iphones will not add the data plan if you have data opt out added. If you use any form of data that is how their systems are catching you.
also I find it funny when I get a customer calling trying to sneak around the system and I check in 3 of my systems what phone they are actually using this very moment.

Data opt out means not using 3g at all right? Nobody would do that! Also, I've called in plenty of times and they've always said, "according to the system, you have a razor right?" So you guys are retarded when it comes to knowing phones, I find THAT funny.
