Gophone mms question on iphone

Try getting a new sim card from eBay. They normally sell for about 2 Dollars and use a different IMEI and hope it works.

Hi, just like to add to this discussion that I used a brand new sim card (straight from an AT&T store) in a 3G and it worked fine. Calls, text and data plan are working fine and I didn't have any problems at all setting it up. However, I have the same exact problem with sending a MMS pic. I can email a pic with not problem and regular texts are fine - it's just pics that I get the red "!" on. I'm at the point of just accepting it that way now though because I don't really want to rock the boat on what I've got working already...

Not to bump an old thread but, I have an iPhone 4, I bought an At&t GoPhone at walmart for 14 bucks (came with a full size sim) bought a 50 dollar unlimited everything card activated the phone charged the sim and was able to get calls and texts. Took the gophone sim and used my micro sim cutting tool (looks like a stapler) and punched out a perfect micro sim. Put it in my iphone 4 and get pop up messages "no sim" and "sim failure", hmm.... nothing worked tried several different micro sim trays that came with my old GEVEY cards, nothing all said the same error. Put in my old iWireless micro sim, and i get 1 bar like its looking for service....so i know its not the sim card because it works in the goPhone and my iWireless micro sim, which worked before i updated the baseband on my iPhone 4, So the card tool is fine. So I went to at&t and told them that i need a new unactivated micro sim for an iPhone 4, they said whats your number? Well i just told them my gophone # and they knew it was a prepaid # when he looked it up, he still gave me the free micro sim.

So i call at&t customer service and have had activate the card over the phone as well as switching over my gophone info to my new sim card. Could not get anything on IOS 5 to say No Service I was on the phone probably for a half hour or so with the REP and he said, well from what i am reading is the gophone plan is not compatible with the iPhone so i didnt know if they had changed something on how it works recently or what cuz a lot of these posts are rather old so i was a little bummed....so i downgraded back to 4.3.3 to see if i could get service on that FW, Nothing...so I upgraded back to stock iOS 5 and all of the sudden the bars popped up and i was back on AT&T. Woot! But now my damn MMS do not work. Also for the people that say they got the internet to work, is that by purchasing a plan? Cuz they are expensive, but i really dont need it cuz i am on wifi at home and at my college. Just curious. Thanks in advance sorry for the lengthy post, but thought it was good info and somebody might benefit from it one day. Cuz its still works and i get unlimited Text and Minutes for 50 bucks. Wish i had internet but oh well......wifi works great.

Oh and i am currently still on Stock iOS 5. I am gonna jailbreak it with Redsn0w, i may possibly downgrade to stock 4.3.3 to get my back right, something is messed up on itunes in conjunction with iOS 5 with back ups because it wont let me choose, but when i downgrade to 4.3.3 it lets me...i dont get it.

Please tell me where the APN information was entered in the iPhone. I am using the APN changer app, to set for the profile for AT&T but I am never presented with a place to enter the username, password, mmsc or proxi. Where is this done? I have a 3Gs 4.2.1

I was also unaware that the GoPhone SIM was locked to the phone it was originally activated with for 6 months I wonder why that is?

I have the $50.00/Mo unlimited talk and test but AT&T will not offer me any data plan even it I wanted to pay for it because I have a smartphone (Iphone) but yet when I place the SIM in the Samsung GoPhone I purchased as a test device, I am able to surf the wed and use data for free--just not in the iPhone.

Ya I am on the 50 dollar plan. No data either. The data add on is too expensive. 100 MB for 15 dollars or 500 MB for 25 dollars all I can say is EFFFF you!
