so my iphone is broke. im in puerto rico right now and was gonna wait till i got home to get a new phone. but i found out im staying here another month.
so can i go and get some cheap pre-paid att phone and throw my sim card in it and use that for a month?
or will they see a regular plan sim card in a pre-paid phone and block it?

Simple: Get any phone that works on GSM, put SIM in it. Call AT&T and have them take off the data for the time being, so you are not charged for it. It's not illegal...
And it will be like a taco inside a taco within a Taco Bell that's inside a KFC that's within a mall that's inside your dream! Springboard screwy after reboot? Here is the fix

It works like a charm! I've done it several times when my phone was having issues. I keep a go phone handy as a backup around the house.
