"If you are on a data plan that does not include a monthly MB/GB allowance and additional data usage rates, you agree that AT&T has the right to impose additional charges if you use more than 5 GB in a month; provided that, prior to the imposition of any additional charges, AT&T shall provide you with notice and you shall have the right to terminate your Service."

Be careful, unlimited is not always unlimited. As you posted above they state limit. Some internet service providers do this also. They advertise unlimited but very small print shows a cap in monthly data. ie. Comcast's "Unlimited" is 250gb total up and down for a month. If you use over this they may warn you with a email or a call. I am unsure how Att handles it.

LOL. Unlimited means you better watch after you cross over 5GB.

I stand corrected. Didnt know there was a fine print. OP didnt specify on first post. You had better be careful then.

Yup "unlimited" means "this is what WE think a normal user will use...normally" limited.

how they monitor is you have a 5gb limit if you top over 5 gb one month and only 2 gb the next month youre fine. Now if you continuously go over 5gb every month, they cap you at 5 so once you go over 5 your internet will stop working till the following bill cycle.

they dont impose a charge until they warn you once right?
    example
you receive a email/text saying you are over

then if you do it again the next billing cycle, then they charge you right?
or do they charge you the moment they send you the email/text?

I made a post regarding this situation before. There is no "unlimited" for AT&T. To us its stated as unlimited, to AT&T, there is a 8GB data limit for US Customers. It has been verified. It is stupid, but maybe if you get charged for going over, there can be a class action lawsuit of some kind. They shouldnt advertise 'unlimited' when really its not.

What can you do really. I think it's for the best though.. some people are just selfish. If you REALLY need that much mobile data, just get CLEAR* (*If available) and they will offer you truly unlimited or 2GB data.
