$$$: Absolutely need help with MMS on 3.1.2 j/b. I'll paypal for the right answer.

Thanks in advance for any help you might offer. I have been mining the forums and can't find a solution that helps.

First, when I say I can't send MMS, this ALWAYS means that I can choose a photo or vid and I can hit send. The problem is that it ALWAYS HANGS at about 90% of the send bar. Eventually it will fail.

Here's what I've done. I have a 3GS on AT&T.

1) 3.0 jailbroken
2) Upped to 3.1.2 via iTunes
2a) At this point, I could MMS. Happy Day.
3) J/b using geohot's blackra1n.
4) Installed Stealthbravo's 6.0 ipcc from his thread/guide.
5) Couldn't get it to work.
6) Tried several different iterations of 5.0, 5.5, 5.6, and 6.0. Never could get it to work
7) Backed up all of my important files and dbs.
8) I wiped this SOB clean by going into DFU mode, and restored to factory settings, 3.1.2
9) Upgraded the carrier settings, too.
10) At this point, I couldn't send MMS. A long AT&T senior tech had my reboot, reset network settings and restore.
11) Still no FSCKIN' joy.
12) I then j/b again with blackra1n.
13) I install Cydia and Rock, and installed and bought MyWi.
14) Reset my network settings.

and that's where I am.

Right now, from my daughter's phone (Xenon also on AT&T), I get a text and a blue arrow in a circle, which I guess is supposed to be the pix.

My only problem is MMS. Everything else works. I just got my first one today, from a friend's phone. I was on 3G at the time, it was a REAL surprise. It's the only one I've gotten since step 13.

I can't get one from my wife's iphone or my daughter's xenon phone. I can't get one from AT&T phones or Verizon.

Right now I'm on 3.1.2, j/b. Carrier is AT&T 5.6. I cannot see my network settings at this time.

Can ANYBODY help? Stealth? PLEASE?????

Go on the Help.Ben.M and install the usa carrer updated and see if it works even after 3.1.2 cuz after i got tethering to work on 3.1.2 my MMS broke and got stuck at 90% so i installed the one from that site and it worked again just give it a try and see what happens

No joy. Thx for trying though. Any other ideas? I have installed Stealth's 6.0 ipcc and rebooted. No joy. Finally, I'm back to the stock ipcc. Still no luck. Please help. Paypal amount is now $10.00.

It really doesnt sound like a phone issue as much as an issue on AT&T's side. Dial 611 and tell them to make sure your phone is provisioned for MMS and to send an OTA to your phone.

They very much know about the benm.at thing. First thing they tell you do to is to delete that profile and reboot. They were cool with it, though.

Okay, I got my phone call tonight. A "Network Engineer" will fix it in 24 hours. Yeah. I'll believe it when I see it.

and I made more $ with AAPL today. About $600 more, with the after hours getting even higher. That's about $3500 total in about three weeks. I'll take it. :-D

Sounds to me that your in my boat, AT&T has your 2g iphone mms blocked, because apple wont allow them to activate it on 2g's. Now I havent tried this yet but what you need is for them to enable WAP Push, I read somewhere that to get them to enable WAP Push you need to tell them that you need it for your work or something, for e-mails. If your lucky and get a cool rep that does it you should be good, but I here theyre real bitc*s about it. So good luck hope I helped.

The OP says they have a 3GS. Try this: Pop your sim into any other phone than an iphone. Go online and take off messaging. Let it take effect, make sure it doesn't send messages (they should fail). Then go back in and add messaging back on. Again, test it out, be sure that you can send messages. Pop your sim back in, hopefully it will help. It sounds like your end is fine, its AT&T's problem. Hope it helps! (If it does, PayPal isn't necessary).

I have the same exact problem onering is having.

Last night I decided to make the jump to 3.1.2 and did my 3G first. Worked perfectly, then did my 3Gs, worked perfectly..... Till, today when I realize that my MMS ability is not there. The camera is gone. Go into photos and selecting a photo doesn't yield the option to MMS either.

Then, I realize that I cannot even send an SMS because soon as I hit the send button, messages crashes back to springboard.

And pretty much first thing after each JB, I tossed in Stealth's 6.0 IPCC file. So, figuring that it may be a conflict with it, I have reverted to 5.5, and some other earlier version I had, and back to Stealth's 6.0 to no avail.

I also figured PdaNet may have caused the conflict so I uninstalled it as well but it didn't fix anything. But PdaNet is back on it now cause deleting it didn't help and cause it allows me to tether.

Still, no camera in messages and even trying to send an SMS crashes it. I am at my wits end here. I saw Stealth was working on a 6.5 IPCC but nothing posted lately.

I've tried everything I can think of, short of wiping it and reJB'n it. That's just a hassle I'll choose only as a last resort. And I don't see it necessary as I having the identical problem on two separate phones, 3G and 3Gs.

Anyway, any ideas would be appreciated.

My solution:

I was on the same boat as you. I had 3.0.1 on a 5.0 carrier AT&T update.

I updated to 3.1.2 with the 5.6 carriet update,... then i jailbroke it.

I couldint mms.

Contacted AT&T/apple... they said everything checked out fine.. that it could be a phone issue.

What i did was updated it with the 6.0 carrier update that YOU used (i actually found it through this thread).
Then shut off your phone and reboot.
Then go to settings--general--reset-- RESET ALL SETTINGS (not network settings,... ALL SETTINGS)

Phone turned back on and i received about 20mms messages that friends claimed they had sent me.

Ok i acted prematurely..
I was able to receive... but not send.
Im getting the red bubble of death right now.

Im doing a full restore later.
Ill post results.

Actually, I fixed mine. I simply installed the OEM 3.1.2 and blackrained it since you can now unlock the 5.11 baseband.

No problems with SMS or MMS now or even with the carrier logo not showing.

It must have had something to do with the custom 3.1.2 FW that I had loaded up.

No offense, but FAIL. I did this last night and got the spinning circle of death. Fsck.

Going home today from the hospital and will restore again.

And YES, AT&T still is trying to figure me out. (After this one: Are you in an area of weak signals? Ummmm, no. I'm in the middle of Indianapolis. Major 3G city. sigh.....)
