Whats with the carrier update?

Hey all, It's been a few days since I've connected my phone to itunes, had some computer issues and blah blah blah.. I did get the most recent carrier update (with mms) and today I get a message saying a new carrier settings is avail.. Whats in it? Is it worth updating? Also, I did NOT upgrade to 3.1.2 because I just got my 3G jailbroken on 3.1 and I don't want to lose it over some minor tweaks... Can someone help me and shed some light on this carrier update?

Helps with the mms freeze and other network problem and you can jailbreak 3.1.2 with blackra1n now so you moght as well do the update because the 3.1.2 fixs the 3.1 coma mode and other problems that 3.1 has
