I have a Jailbroken 2g iPhone 3.0 carrier 5.0...

Can I update to 5.2 or 5.5???

Mms is confirmed to work on 2g with 5.1 n activatemms hack.

i have installed the activate2Gmms on cydia, but it didn't send mms, gave me a icon but not able to send out. just kept getting red exclamation marks.

Although I am on 5.0 carrier settings, not 5.1

Not sure on how dangerous it is? I have used it on 4 2g phones without ne probs. Use 5.1 carrier setting. I posted a link on a previous 2g post. Let me know if u need more help

I am looking for that link you posted.
What about profiles, do I need a specific profile aswell?

Am so frustrated, many have there 2G phones working with MMS, I have been able to get it right... I need pleanty of help.

u only need 2 things: 5.1 ipcc n "activatemms" (go 2 cydia n D/L...)
all of ur settings will b there. Did u find my link?

I guess what I am missing is the 5.1 file, I couldn't located it.

A little guidance would be great.

AT&T IPCC 5.1
download 5.1 from this link. Install activate2gmms from cydia. Install 5.1 n reboot.
Let me what happens?

I've got it working. Here is what I did:

1. Install ActiveateMMS2G from cydia
2. Check out StealthBravo's information on this page here:

2.a: Download the "alternative AT&T IPCC" file (2nd link on the first thread). This file is nice because the defaults are all correct... no need to change the voicemail or MMS settings.
3. Update your carrier setting through iTunes (i used 9.0 and did NOT need to put any startup switches to enable updating the carrier settings of my choice). If you have iTunes 8.x, you will need to follow the other instructions on how to enable updating the carrier file of your choice (don't forget to SHIFT-Clink on windows or OPTN-Click on Mac!).
4. Reboot.
5. Enjoy.

Ok, I installed 5.1 and installed activatemms from cydia...

Rebooted...

Verified that the 5.1 was installed, and it was. And it was.



Tried to send a picture to my wifes w580i phone and nothing, it just hung at sending until it shut off then gave me a red exclamation mark.

I have done this, but it didn't work for me?

I had a w580i Ericsson phone and bought a used 2G iPhone, added the family talk data plan while I was on the Ericsson phone, then next day inserted my sim in the used iPhone I bought.

Does profiles have anything to do with it?

K, its normal 4 the mms to choke up. Keep trying to re-send the pic. Before today, some of my phones did not activate til the next day. At&t will run its software 2nite which will change activation status. Avoid changing setting n ipcc file to soon...
