can i exchange my 3gs 3.1?
i just got my 3gs on thursday 9/10/09. after i jailbreaked it i tried to install sbsettings and it did the apple logo loop. so i had no choice but to restore to 3.1. no i do not have those files i needed. i was wondering if anyone knows if att would let me exchange if fot another one. thanks in advance.

No. First off you have to take it to Apple not ATT, and if there is no actual manufacturers defect they arent going to exchange it.

well mine i had 3.0.1. same with my friends that just got his today at the same store. well oh guess theres nothing i can do now but hope with out those files 3.1 will be JB.

If you did get it exchanged and got 3.0.1 on the new one you would not be able to get those signature files because you can't restore old firmware.

Eventually, the 3G[s] will be jailbroken. The awesome dev team (and friends) will find an exploit in the chip, like prior models, and then all will be saved. Of course, this could be tomorrow, or in twenty years; there's no telling when. Have faith, and it looks like you should have taken the right steps to get protected...
It appears that there may be talks of an independent iPhone flashing app. As in, restore to any firmware, without iTunes. But this is just what I've been reading about lately. It sounds, though, as if it is inevitable.And it will be like a taco inside a taco within a Taco Bell that's inside a KFC that's within a mall that's inside your dream! Springboard screwy after reboot? Here is the fix

The only way att would exchange is if you changed the model of your phone so if you had a 16s you would have to either spend more for a 32s or settle for 8g and get some money back
