iPhone 2G data on 3GS
I am planning on heading out to buy a 3GS off someone who listed it on Craigslist today, and was wondering what would happen if I put my SIM from my unlocked 2G iPhone that has the iPhone 2G data plan on it into the 3GS. Will I get charged for both Edge and 3g? Just 3g? Or anything at all?
I have AT&T.

you'd get charged for DATA you don't get separate charges for different speeds.
IT will probably work fine though you may go over your data plan what with 3G connections.Being an i can be a lot of pressure. you have to live right up to the small point.

It DOES work!
Possibly you are confusing the Data Plan price as such with the AT&T subsidize?
The data plan prices does not distinguish between 2G/3G/3GS Available Data Rate Plans | AT&T wireless servicesDo hope that helps

Well, none of those plans are what I have! I have a generic family plan, and I added the data plan on the website under "manage features". It's called the "iPhone Data Plan + 200 Text ($20)".

We'll find out on the 15th if they end up blocking us. But until then yes other data plans work just fine. (no visual voice mail though) but yes they work fine.
