I'm on the Cingular (at&t) prepaid pay as you go plan. I dialed 611 and added the "Messaging Package - 200/$4.99", I see that I now have the text messaging feature but I still can't receive or send any texts for some reason. Anyone know why, or is there something I have to do on my iphone?
EDIT: Oh and I can make and receive calls perfectly

don't even say iPhone, if AT&T finds out that you use a prepaid card on an iPhone, they'll flip out. Try to find a friend and swap SIM cards and try to debug the SMS problem on you friend's phone.
