I have aquestion and maybe someone can answer this for me...So when i had the 3G i had purchased SwirlyMMS and called AT&T and set up this whole WAP push thingy and all was well...So now i upgraded to the 3Gs and now SwirlyMMS doesn't work...if i take my SIM out and put it in an OLD cellphone i can access MediaNEt and set it up and i can send and recv MMS msgs no problem...WELL, when i switch the SIM back to my 3Gs i can send and recv 1 picture msg successfully and that's it...when i try again it fails...any ideas??

You'll need to have AT&T stop swiching you back to the nromal plan *my best guess*
is that when you put the aim back in your old phone, it switches back(don't know why that would happen)
but that's what it sounds like.
just use the guide, I'm biased though
@stealthbravo
lol, wait.. I don't get it.Last edited by JustinPizzle; 07-25-2009 at 09:30 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

I'm on a family data plan so i don't have them switching my plan at all...i think i just have to have AT&T re-provision my WAP push for my 3Gs but i was hoping i wouldn't have to call AT&T...since the second line (3G) still works with SwirlyMMS i hope when i call i don't get someone from AT&T that will be an ***** and switch his off too...
When is MMS suppose to be offical with iPhones??

*late summer*
that's what they say, and ya I can see why you wouldn't want to do that.
I didn't know they had family data plans. But if you want mms. Get the WAP push. Put your sim in a non iPhone phone, and tell them all you want is the wap push, everything else should stay the same.
It's up to you man
*wishes you luck*
For all the people on family messaging plans, all you need to do is have the WAP push enabled.Last edited by JustinPizzle; 07-25-2009 at 10:24 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

Have you had them resent the OTA to the phone. I would have them reset the vlr (I believe it's vlr, or something real close to that I don't have it right in front of me)on the phone too. I will check when at work to make sure it's vlr, I wrote it down to help fellow employees get mms on thier Iphones.

Your welcome. It is VLR, have them clear/reset it. We have quite a few iPhones at work that wouldn't work til they did this. I also use 66.209.11.32 in the proxy setting because why go through a DNS server first(the www.:80 Sends u to same place just an extra step or two). Here is the post I have referenced in my notes to get mms working.

I know it's old but that helped us back then and we have no issues now. So good luck everyone. And congrats to those who have it working.

Just wanted to thank Justin for his help.
I have had MMS working since Friday night. Although I was unsuccessful in getting the rep to enable WAP Push (I was flatly denied and told by the rep that tech support said it's impossible (blah blah).
I even tried to get them to change the plan over because I would swap SIM cards between phones so I could MMS with the non iPhone but was told that it conflicted because an iPhone was listed as primary. They aren't going for the switch SIM card to do MMS in different phones apparently. But while I was on the phone with the rep I logged into the myWireless app on my iPhone via WIFI and successfully changed my messaging to Messaging 1500. I then sent a few MMS with non iPhone. After the MMSes went thru I turned the non iPhone off with SIM card in it, powered down my iPhone, switched the SIM card and then powered up my iPhone. I should also mention that I am using Justin's recommendation for the MMS proxy address (wireless.Cingular.com:80).
Once the iPhone powered up MMS has been going strong. We will see how long it lasts. I send myself one every once in a while to see if things are still working. But it is a cool feeling to be able to use the phone 100% for it was intended.
Although I didn't get to use Justin's method all the way through I wanted to thank him for pushing me to try again.

I'm glad to see it's working!!
And you are very welcome sir.
If it does stop, keep calling back, and try them to set the non iPhone to the primary, and to disable the two places in snooper, that is what will kick you off
best of luck friend!
If you get a doink rep, don't get mad, they'll tag you.
and that will kill your chances untill the release.Last edited by JustinPizzle; 07-27-2009 at 01:21 AM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

No

I was thinking about something....
What's gunna happen to those of us That have MMS when AT&T really sets up MMS?
Hopefully it's a simple matter of just logging into mywireless and changing the plan back to iphon messaging.
And I'll prbly give them a call switching my iPhone back to the only phone on my line.
All completly worth it in my opinion.

^ You will have to update your carrier settings to the new one that they provide. You might want to switch back your plan too
