Hi guys, I have an iphone 3G unlocked on tmobile and both my parents have 2Gs unlocked on tmobile...we're thinking about switching to AT&T because of better service but want to keep our iphones and not pay the insane internet price of AT&T..
so is this possible at all? my cousin in new jersey has done it with his 2G iphone.
he got free phones from ATT when he signed up for a new contract
got 1400 minutes family plan, and then $30 month family messaging and added a $10 month internet plan to his samsung phone that he got free
he also had an unlocked iphone 2G...he put in the sim card and the $10 internet worked on his 2G and that's what he uses now....whenever he talks to ATT he just switches back into the samsung phone and they think he's on that...
is it possible for me to add 2 of those $10 internet plans and "use them on my samsung" but then put the sims into my iphones and use it there?
also i just called and AT&T rep and she said that u can get 3G from that $10 internet plan just you have to have a 3G enabled device...does that mean then 3G will really come on my iPhone 3G unlocked for only $10/month??
It will not work. at&t will eventually find out and send you an SMS saying to use the iPhone data package. If you don't switch to it, they WILL charge you for overages.
It would only works if your device it's trully factory unlocked and it has not have a recognize IMEI, becuase this is what locks phones to certain service providers, "The famous sim lock! becuase they would now your phone model. are your iphone's software unlocked? (ultraSnow or sim adapter) if so you are better of with a regular plan and MediaNet(15.00 internet) works on mine's real good. (they are not ATT iphones)
