Every time I restart my phone, the carrier settings get reset to default. Any suggestions? I've tried installing the carrier settings via itunes and also benm.at

Check your profiles.
Go under settings to find them..

go into all of them and remove them.
after you do that. reboot. then change your carrier setting. and then reboot. see if that works.

I have not tried this on any of the 3GS phones yet.

But did you update the carrier settings via iTunes?

Day #2 using this info and I can still send/receive MMS's.
It took it a while to start working initally, but now everything has been working fine.

Thanks Phoenixfire

Yeah, I am using the 3.0, updated (not restored) from iTunes. I had already had MMS enabled for another phone about 2 weeks ago via a call to AT&T b/c I thought that Swirly MMS was not working right (not related though).
After I got the Cellular Data settings to show up, and verified that MediaNet could "update" my phone, it took about an hour or so before it finally started working. I don't know what caused the delay, but it seems to be working fine both sending and receiving.

Does this work for the 3gs? Is there a different ipcc file for 3Gs?

If you got it work, would you mind posting up exactly what you did and any pertinent links used?

I tried that one way that was on YouTube (on my 3g, not the "s"). I don't think I left the sim card in my other phone long enough though, I kept going to my account and it had my iPhone listed still as my phone for like an hour.

The ipcc from the 3G worked on my 3GS. It actually automatically updated it when i did a restore on the brand new 3GS. No luck on getting it to work though...

All i did was pop my sim card into my friends treo, made a few calls, sent mms, worked... then switched the sim back and mms worked on the iphone, i registered the whole medianet stuff too. And now on my att account its showing the treo as my phone and also i changed my text messaging plan to the regular $20 not the iphone text messaging plan because am guessing thats the one that includes the 'mms opt out' soc code

I need help. I dont have the visual VM or the cell network settings in my General>Network section. After reading this thread, it seems that something has to be done thru iTunes? Can someone tell me what I need to do in iTunes to get these on my iPhone? Im running 3.0 using redsn0w as my jailbreak method.

Also, I have friends that work for ATT. What would be easier, going to them to ask them to remove the "MMS opt-out" or swapping the sim cards around and such?

Please help.
