Wow i wondered the same thing? Where are my post? lol. I got the tethering to work fine. But the MMS isn't working at all getting an error. When i go to the help.mat site the setting are filled in then i fill in the username and pw hard reboot phone and still doesn't work. When i go to check the settings the username and pw are cleared from the settings i entered. So when i try it with the username and pw filled it doesn't work when i try with them empty it doesn't work. anything else i should try?

anyway here's my post again.

I just got off the phone with tech support and this is what happened.
I called ATT customer service and asked them to simply remove my opt-out mms code from my number. The guy said that he was going to do
it and logged in to the system to do so (which took forever because he said a lot of people are trying to the same thing right now).
After a few minutes of waiting he told me to turn my phone off and on and then he said he sent me 3 test messages. I only received the
SMS test message not the MMS. He said that all my mms settings were correct on my account and it should work(but it didn't). He
transferred me ,while staying on the line, to a level 2 technical support specialist. They talked to each other for a little explaining
my trouble. The lady from tech support said that she was told if she changed that provision on any iPhone account they could be fired.
She continued to say that if she did it may not even work because on my account I have a family text package. She said that ATT is not
going to have MMS available for the iPhones until September. I explained that many people online had done the same thing and got MMS to
work and she said that the techs who removed the provisions might be fired. I gave up on this subject because it seemed to be a dead end
in trying to get MMS at this point. She ask me if I had anymore questions and I figured since I had an ATT rep on the phone I would see
when I will be elegable for the fully subsidized iPhone 3GS. She said that she got an email yesterday that said starting tomorrow
anyone who purchased an iPhone 3G last year during the months of July, August, and September that their update date would be pushed up.
So for me I had purchased my iPhone on release date last July and had an upgrade date of of 12/12/09 and she said that mostly likely I
would be able to get one in July for the fully subsidized price because I bought it on release day and my account is in good standing.
This change in the dates is supposed to be tomorrow and that the update of the system is supposed to start at midnight tonight to
update all the qualifying accounts. I hope this is true!

Not sure why any of the post are vanishing.. but it seems to be forum wide....

But as for your issue Vish.

make sure you have a WiFi Connection for this.
go into Settings > General > Profiles.
go into all the profiles you have and then remove them.
after you do that go back to the General section and then goto Reset. then "Reset Network Settings" The phone will reboot and then try the process all over again.
See if that works for you.

The order.

1. Apply the Carrier settings via Itunes
2. Reboot
3. goto help.BenM.at
4. reboot
5. test.

if that does not work then try the unlockit.co.nz settings.
then reboot.

After that check ALL of the Network Settings

Hope this helps.

Denied!! Should i enter the Username and PW that helpbenm.at has on his site? And what is diff about the unlockit.co.nz do?

The unlockit site just does the APN for the cellular data but it has the usernames and passowrds. but no Visual Voicemail settings or MMS. try entering these settings for all of the APNs except for the Visual Voicemail

I think ATT might have put a lid on this deal.

I just checked my plan online and it says "messaging unlimited" and under data it says "personal pda" so that just confirms that i still have true MMS on my line. I never changed my plan from when i was iPhone less for a while.

I just activated the iPhone i got through warranty with a prepaid sim so i didnt have to get an iPhone plan.

I have all the settings, i got tethering to work but i cant get the MMS to work. It just shows the red exclamation point to the right of the picture.

have any of you noticed that if you use acds.voicemail that the tethering option disappears? mine is doing that. can't find an IPCC file that allows me to keep visual voicemail, tethering, MMS, cellular data menu.

same here. I had it when i was on Beta 5 but after updating to official release, its gone

For all you guys not seeing the camera button, restart your phone.

I didnt see the camera MMS icon in the text box until i restarted the phone (after i installed the modified update).

I installed the custom ipcc via both the download direct from benm's site and also via itunes with the custom ATT ipcc. I got tethering to work but i cant get the MMS feature to work.

I am now going to reset settings and update the phone ONLY via benm's site and then mess with the MMS carrier settings...
