    Default Questions about buy n cancel at walmart...

    So I was in walmart today, and I was looking at the iPhones, and reading the little concract pamphlets they have, and I was thinking.

    Could I plausibly sign up for AT&T and buy the 8Gb 3G for $97, plus activation ($35) and then get the voice + data plan ($69), and then cancel? The pamphlet said the ETF was $175, but you get $5 off for every month remaining in the plan, so $175 minus 11 months (not 12 cause I have to pay the first upfront right?) is $120

    So all in all it'd be:
    iPhone = $97
    Activation = $35
    Plan (1 month) = $69
    ETF (-11months) = $120
    TOTAL == $321

    Does that sound like it'd work?
    TIA

    I dunno. But all that math just gave me a headache. Either that, or I'm developing a "brain cloud". I better make an appointment with my doctor.

    I once asked one of the ATT employees if i could do that, and he said yes. The only reason i didn't do it was cuz i was afraid ATT would make me pay full price ($650) for the phone once i canceled my service.

    The ETF does not get prorated. I asked about this the other day in regards to cancelling my current contract and then signing up again to get the $299 price and they told me I would pay $175 even though I am only a few months away from the end of a 2 year agreement.

    LOL, you do not get 5 off for every REMANING month. You get 5 dollars off for every month you completed. AKA 175-5 (the one month of your contract you actually completed)= 170

    oh and its a 2 year contract, not 1
