4G Speeds
So one of the qualifications of 4G is to have speeds of at least 100mbps, right? I saw a commercial on TV the other day about Charter saying "Get the highest speed internet" or one of the highest or something (I don't remember but it's not really important) saying their speeds were 20mbps. Does that mean that the speed of AT&T's 4G wireless network will be 5x as fast as Charter in just a couple of years? That's freaking insane!
And to think we were all using dial-up not too long ago.

There's this amazing invention called the internet.

4G - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Besides, I highly doubt that any blazing fast internet service will be standardized within the States anytime soon. These companies are making a killing because 80% of the people don't know the difference between kilobytes and kilobits. Unless people start getting educated as a whole and demand for faster internet, it isn't going to happen.

If Charter's current speed is 20mbps and 4G pushes 100, they can't get away with providing less than 20. Even if it's 60 or 70mbps, that's still WAYYY faster than my Internet at home.
Your point? I already read that article.
Won't happen any time soon? AT&T is talking about having it in 2011/2012. And if they're late by a year or two, 5 years isn't that far away.Last edited by Channan; 04-18-2009 at 10:31 AM. Reason: No Reason
