kinda curious about something...as I've previously stated in theses threads I currently have a RZR v9 contract with AT&T but use my sim in a 1st gen jailbroken iphone and have SwirlyMMS working fine and has been for months...I recently did the upgrade and preordered my 3GS through the AT&T site, my Swirly still currently works now and they show on the order that they'll b sending me a new sim along with my 3GS...if I was to not use the new sim they send and wait for a jailbreak/activate for the 3GS (regardless of how long it may be) anyone think I could then slip in my original sim that Im currently using and have AT&T MMS functionality?

Ok ...so I thought I would give calling AT&T a whirl for myself and I told them I was using a treo for work and I was using the SIM card from my iphone to power it. I said I used it to send pictures to clients cell phones so I needed MMS. Long story short he got MMS working temporarily on my 3.0 GM but it was short lived. Then he went to his upper supervisor who stated that next week they are coming out with a 4.50 (I'm assuming he is referring to the carrier file. that will solve the MMS) I asked what they would charge and he replied that he wasn't sure but he assumed it would be free....Anyone else heard this?

Also, I was able to send a few and then it stopped… I have noticed that I can’t seem to get my Bluetooth headphones to work… Furthermore, I can’t play songs on my iPod… Any thoughts?

I tried most everything on these threads throughout the betas, and nothing worked for me to get MMS going, even though I have a Family Unlimited messaging plan with AT&T. Tethering worked by updating the ipcc, but not MMS. Changing the settings manually always made the phone act strangely (ie, Visual Voicemail would stop working or be intermittent, or tethering would disappear).

On a lark, I decided to try something simple. On my fresh restore GM I had no tethering or MMS options showing. I updated the ipcc through iTunes, and then had the settings. Voicemail and Tethering worked, but MMS still stalled.

I took the SIM out, put it in my old Treo and tried sending a message. No go, at first, but on the third try, it started working. I put the SIM back in the iPhone and voila! MMS works! That was yesterday morning and still going strong. Tethering and Visual Voicemail work perfectly as well.

Note that I haven't touched the settings or made any calls to AT&T tech support.

i got my mms working after taking the sim card out and put it in my razr sent apic to myself and it worked then put the sim back in my iphone and it worked

also tethering works fine

my iPhone was sending MMS throughout the betas 1 - 5 and when i changed over to GM it stopped working my account is still provisioned the same with the way AT&T had done it at the beginning for MMS now it just wont send I thought it was the upgrade so I wiped it completely and did it again and still nothing it looks like it wants to send but it doesnt any one having the same issue? Again it worked throughout all the betas and now with GM it doesnt work and the ipcc has been inputted as well the one Stealth Bravo last put out. Any help would be awesome thanks in advance.

My visual voicemail stopped working when I upgraded to 3.0 GM. I was able to successfully upload the .IPCC to enable tethering and MMS, however I lose tethering the second I change my Visual Voicemail APN to acds.voicemail

Anybody else have this problem?

Yep, the same thing is happening to my iPhone ever since around midnight. Maybe we just need a better hacked-ipcc that has the voicemail pre-set correctly and tethering/mms enabled.

mines been working for months, even on the gm seed, so here, hope it helps

I figured out the problem. Setting type mask to -2 sets tether, data, and voicemail to cingular.wap

Setting it to -3 or -4 enables it only for tether, data (and mms) but leaves voicemail setting up to the carrier bundle.

Now everything works for me with type mask -3.

Got it to work when i swapped my sim card into my wifes phone, then put the sim card back in my iphone and it worked for about 4 hours. if that.

Gonna have to try and do the sim switch again tonight. hopefully it works for a little longer. too bad it's such a pain and that AT&T blows goat so badly it's not even funny...

No. The sim card for the original phone is not a 3G sim so it will not work

The BIG question I have is when my 3gs arrives this week, Will there be a carrier file that I can upgrade thru itunes that will allow the 3gs to do MMS. Even the video MMS as I did see a pic with that as a feature on the 3gs. Reason I am asking is because at&t is not sappose to release the MMS to the iphone until late summer..? WTH?!?! Anyway, I currently have my 3g iphone with the latest 3.0 and the carrier file updated using itunes 8.2 (from the beta 4 as it still allows carrier file updated) and all is good with MMS and has been for over a month now.

hi - thanks for the tethering it works and voicemail works - everything is great - but my network now has a cellular data network pointer and when I open it up it says: Cellular data APN wap.cingular
Visual voicemail APN wapcingular an the same for MMS - can I ask you what those are?
