I successfully activated and unlocked my iPhone and installed the SIM from my Treo 650 which is on a business plan from ATT. The problem I've encountered is that I can't connect to EDGE because the Treo 650 didn't support it, thus the SIM is not enabled for it. I tried getting a new SIM for the TREO and having it activated, but it couldn't be done since the unit itself doesn't support it. I'm at a loss as to what to do next. The iPhone works perfectly via Wi-Fi, but I need it to work with or without a hot-spot. Any ideas?

Have you tried just asking ATT for a full access data plan instead of a Treo plan? I haven't heard of a specific SIM that doesn't accept EDGE data - its the phone/plan.

I have to go through my company's outsourced mobile support agency, not through ATT directly. That agency told me that I can't get EDGE or 3G support on the Treo 650, that I'd have to order a new phone.

Yah but what does EDGE working on your Treo have to do with EDGE working on your iPhone? As long as its on your PLAN, then it will work fine with the iPhone, and just won't with the Treo if thats what they're telling you.
