I have 1.1.4 jailbroken iphone but not unlocked and was having the same problem everyone else is with swirly mms giving unexpected http reponse or whatever.

I called at&t and told them that I have a Sony that I use every so often for mms specifically. (make sure you really do have another phone because they will ask for the imei) and it hasn't been working.

I was on the phone for 30 minutes before telling the customer service rep. that i know that issue is on their end and that it has worked for 6 months with no problems, and I had to go to class, I told her to go through everything and make sure that mms was activated on my line and she told me that it won't work because i have an iphone line and it is not compatible.

I told her that it has worked for 6 months and it suddenly stopped no matter what phone I use. I told her i had to go to class for 3 hours and to fix it or send it to the technicians to fix, I also told her the answer is not "it's incompatible" because it worked before.

Sitting in class right now, an hour and a half later, I just downloaded all 7 mms's and sent one without a problem.

some advise, if you get someone that seems like they won't be any help within the first minute. . . hang up and call back. This really seems to be a tossup so don't waste ur time with someone who won't help.

Any developments on this AT&T USERS? I've only seen 3 or so people say it worked, while most are scratching their heads. Wish I knew what unlock was before I bought mine and just stayed with verizon. Visual voicemail isn't worth this crap.

The general consensus is still no MMS on AT&T.

Yeah, except for the people saying that with family talk and unlim. messaging that this can easily be accomplished.

yah i got mine to work.
1.1.4 att unlocked/jailbroken with a family plan and unlimited family texting
you need to call att and tell them to add the paypermms even though its included in the texting plan. make sure they turn it on and have them check to make sure anything related to mms is on. if they give you crap about your iphone, hang up and call back.
this worked for me and has been working for at least a month now

I said GENERAL consensus.... yes there are very very SPECIFIC cases where you can get LUCKY with AT&T tech support and talk them into putting in the setting for you but this is very hit and miss.

Fair enough, I was just hoping to hear someone say: "Oh yeah it all works perfectly just add MMS and you're all set!" or something. Sorry for the wasted post

ok thats simple. "gateway IP address" is proxy
here..

mmsc: http://mmsc.cingular.com
proxy: 66.209.11.61:9201

APN: wap.cingular

username: WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM
password: CINGULAR1

MAKE SURE THE USERNAME AND PASSWORD ARE IN ALL CAPS. THEY ARE CAP SENSATIVE.

its that easy.

ok your correct with what you have explained but after you do that you will need to change the imei # on the iphone with a basic phone so you don't loose mms features. if you don't do that the second you use the internet you loose mms. The feature only works with the phone being unlocked and using a regular plan with unlimited text. Do not try it with a Iphone plane it will not work.

like tman said, to a point....... make sure your on 3.9 bootloader, just use bootneuter, change your imei with ziphone, put in the settings in swirlymms MMSC: mmsc.cingular.com....Proxy: 066.209.011.032....everything else blank, and it works. I've been using it for awhile now it works great. you cant be on the iphone plan either. $15 unl media net and $20 unl messaging or $30 family messaging. If i remember right I had to call in to cust service and give them my new imei and have them resend your mms capabilities ota. It works great! Do it all at your own risk though.
