avoiding the security deposit for at&t?

they want a 750 dollar deposit cuz my credit sucks(unpaid hospital bills) is there any way of avoiding this?

im not interested in droppin over 1000 bucks just to turn my phone on...

any suggestions? thanks!

Get prepaid or have a friend open the account for you. Thats pretty much it.

There's no way to get them to waive it.

OUCH... $750... I thought my uncle had some of the worst credit, but his deposit was only $500 (with the former SunCom though)

What you need to do is this. Set up service with a "pick your plan". Now keep your service active for a year. Do not get shut off. After that year you can set up a "post paid" account with a $0 deposit.
