Saving Money with AT&T (the hard way)

This month our family plan bill (2 iPhone 3g, and 2 Samsung Syncs) was over 100 dollars less than the full price!

We have VERY BAD reception in San Francisco, San Jose & Santa Rosa. We started complaining at least once a week. Each time we get some more money taken off the bill to keep us happy.

This month we got 101 dollars off!

It does pay to complain! All complaints were done by reasonably calm and determined adults.

If your service is BAD, I urge you all to complain too!

I have a problem with calls coming in and when I try to answer, the phone appears to pick up but noone can hear me.

Looks like the OP will make this a regular thing. I don't buy it because if I were getting bad reception in those areas which I highly doubt I would switch carriers. I'll prove the coverage to you and call ******** on your claims:

You can see there is plenty of coverage. You seem like someone trying to get over on credits.

That's like me complaining that I don't get service in NEW YORK CITY, which is impossible.

Guess what though? There's a record of how much credit they give you and eventually they'll stop giving you credit. Your account will be forwarded to fraud and they will investigate. Doing this ruins it for people who actually need to be compensated for their troubles. They have a certain set limit per day as to how much credit they can give out. You should be more honest. The only thing I can think of for your bad reception issues is a bad SIM CARD which is highly unlikely that ALL of your phone have a bad SIM. And you call it saving money....

I read this post when he posted it and knew it was B.S because he lives in or around San Francisco. There is no way his claims are legit. They will just do with him what Sprint was doing with people when they called in all the time complaining, they will Drop him. It does ruin it for everyone that is having legit issues of network coverage.

For the doubters, I live near the top of twin peaks, we have the worst edge reception in San Francisco! We have no 3g, and often lose calls.

Within 1 block in San Francisco, we get NO at&t reception at all! You can drive on Portola Avenue before it turns into Market St. for yourself. We lose 100% of our calls. (also true for previous our 2 2g iPhones)

In Santa Rosa, we're high upon a hill too, AT&T apologizes regularly!

San Jose (mostly flat) has reasonable reception, but most calls from MOM are made to San Francisco, Santa Rosa....

Poor old Mom suffers with the rest of us!

If your service is FINE, good for you!

But this post was to alert others with bad reception and call losses that there is someone listening!

Ya think? What you need to do is find another carrier. Before you commit to a contract you should RESEARCH them. That's why all carriers have a website where you can view a COVERAGE MAP.

You don't just walk in a store and believe what the rep says when he says "BELIEVE ME SIR YOU'LL HAVE COVERAGE EVERYWHERE".

Like I said in a big city like San Francisco I find it hard to believe your claims. Now if you live in the desert that would be a different story. I don't know what you will accomplish by complaining other than receiving credits. It's not like AT&T is going to say "Sure sir, we'll go right down and build a tower for you", unless your pockets are deep like Donald Trump or P. Diddy I don't see it happening.

I'm not sure what country you live in, but the iPhone is only legitimately available on AT&T. There are no choices. We left Verizon to use AT&T.

As it's been pointed out, the map SAYS we should have good coverage.
