ATT Plan Help
OK so i just bought a 8gig iphone 2g off of ebay. Now I am already a att customer, i have the samsung a737 with a new 3g sim card. This is my plan: nation 450 Rollover & 5000 Night/Weekend & Unlimited Mobile-To-Mobile Minutes for $39.99 and 1500 Messages for $15.00
So should i call att and ask them to add the iphone data plan and get rid of the messages since i think the data plan includes them too? Im wondering this because i can't add it myself from online and if i call them and ask them to do it will i get any problems from their customer service?
Or are there any other suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

just call them and they will add the $20.00 data plan and it comes with 200 text messages. you can keep your minutes and your calling plan. i believe that if you activate the 2G through itunes, it will give u the option for the data plan. thats how mine worked out last year when i got the 2G.

Move over to the iPhone data plan so you can use it. Tell them you are moving your SIM over to it and want to make it your primary phone.
The plan is going to cost you your standard minute plan + $30 for data and this includes no texting so you need to add that.

If you put your ATT sim in the iPhone and plug into iTunes it will automatically activate the iphone $20 plan. That is how it worked when I gave my oldest son;s 2G to my youngest son. Previously on his number he had no extras just the $9.99 cost for being on the family plan.

Good question. You might have to. With one of the 2G's- the one I gave my son, I did not unlock it and it gave me a nag screen to set up the data plan when I restored it in iTunes. With the other I did unlock and activate (with winpwn on 1.1.4) I dont recall if I ever got a nag on that one.
You can call them and have them add the 2G plan I imagine, and as far as teh text plan, it all depends upon how much you text. i think teh 2G plan includes 200 messages. if you text more than that it gets expensive very fast (learned that the hard way with a son off at college).
To correct a previous post, the 2G plan is $20/month and includes 200 texts. It is the plan for the 3G that is $30/month and does not include any texts.
