Did you know?
Hey guys gQ again. I thought I'd start a Did You Know thread with tips to help some of you people out. Feel free to add any useful information. I just ask that if you have questions use the PM's instead of flooding the thread. Everyday I'll try and add a new tip for you guys.
This tip applies to people who get stalked alot like myself.
(STILL NEEDS TO BE VERIFIED, I MAY STAND CORRECTED)
Did you know that if someone calls you from a Blocked or Unknown number you can still get their phone number?
How?
Well on your bill when you receive it you will notice that you can see all the numbers that call your phone (inbound and outbound calls). All you have to do is jot down the time that you received the call and wait until your bill posts on the website or prints out and gets mailed to you.
Why you may ask?
Because let's say for instance your call logs need to be subpoenas your call logs for whatever situation they can't bill you for an Unknown Call.
So let's say someone called you from an unknown number and you racked up 100 dollars in charges, you would win your argument because they can't bill you for a number that's not physically there.
Some people may know this tip but many people in my experience don't. Hope this helps answer some of your questions guys.
I'll come back later with more tips. Such as reading your bill and deciphering those unknown charges you may see.Last edited by gQstatus05; 12-09-2008 at 02:15 PM.

Did you know... EDGE is really slow?
Just kidding. Well not really, but you know...
In serious news, did you know that on the 2G phone (and maybe the 3G) EDGE speeds (and maybe 3G speeds) have been proven to be faster when the phone is in landscape mode and you hold it on the opposite side from the antennas (the black area on the back)?Last edited by ALL DAY; 12-08-2008 at 05:36 PM.

And where exactly are the published studies that confirm these claims?

We'll forward his claim to MythBusters. They'll solve the mystery.

^Haha.
It was from a while back; mid to late last year when the 2G was still "the thing". It wasn't a quantum jump, more like from really, really slow to really slow, but I believe it was posted on iPhoneHacks and other reputable sites.
I'll see if I can dig up a link since you seem a bit skeptical.
EDIT: Here you go. iPhone Tips & Tricks: Regain Reduced Battery life & Improve Edge speeds - iPhone Hacks. Bottom half of the article, brought to you by Natetrue.
Guess it wasn't that outlandish of a claim after all, huh?

^I remember that, someone posted a video too. Didn't really show anything other than a rather convoluted way of holding the phone.

Ok someone PM'd me about this so I thought I'd put this out to help some of you guys.
Here's some stuff you can use to find the status of your account.
If you open up the phone and dial these numbers you can find information on your account. After dialing it you get a text message with the information relating to your request.
*3282# (for How many texts you have used and have left for the month.)
*646# (for How many minutes you have used and have left for the month.)
*225# (for How much your balance is for the month)
and if you have your credit card info stored on the website you can:
*729# to pay your bill.Android user suffering from iPhone withdraw.

well I just looked at my phone bill online and i had an unknown number call and it just shows inbound and then my number. So I still can't get the number of the blocked call.

The ATT bill trick for unknown numbers is incorrect.
I have a issue with my phone where I am not getting caller ID when I should be and worked with ATT tech. Numbers that come in as blocked or unknown show up on your bill as your own phone number. You need a suponea to ATT to get the actual number and you can not ask for a number yourself. You need a court order. I know this for a fact becuase I have had to work to get a number that had been calling me and finally got it after I had a case opened with the local police department.

Very true my apologies I had it mixed up. The unknown number popped up for me on my bill, maybe something was activated. That's weird I'll keep looking around. I'll keep you guys posted.
I also hear that you can identify the numbers by spoofing. I know spoofapp doesn't have the capabilities but I do know there is another Spoofapp that does more and is more expensive. Can anyone verify?Last edited by gQstatus05; 12-09-2008 at 02:14 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

The landscape surfing on Edge is true. It is faster. I noticed it by accident.

Did you know that chuck norris is the only person in the world who can email a roundhouse kick?
I know this is true with the home phone...if a call is blocked it, the number will still show up on the bill at the end of the month.Last edited by gQstatus05; 12-09-2008 at 02:58 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

If you are in a union, you are eligible for 10% off your ATT bill
And it will be like a taco inside a taco within a Taco Bell that's inside a KFC that's within a mall that's inside your dream! Springboard screwy after reboot? Here is the fix
