Default First bill since SwirlyMMS - being charged extra for MMS!

    WTF!?

I thought everyone I'd spoken to on the forums told me that MMS was included in the AT&T iPhone text message plan? Apparently not. I just got my first bill since installing SwirlyMMS (and having them remove the MMS block) and I just got charged $5.95 for using MMS on the iPhone. Do I need to have the Unlimited text plan for that?

Not that $5.95 is a big deal for approx 20 MMS, but the fact that its listed separately on the bill means they'll surely disable it when they notice.
I can't even call to make changes on my bill now, because I know when they review it, they'll notice the MMS charges when I have an iPhone

No, ATT doesnt include MMS with your normal txt or iphone plan.

This is because the iphone doesnt natively support MMS.

So yeah, to have MMS (and your lucky its even working) you do have to have/pay for an MMS plan of some sort.

so I guess I shouldnt ***** about it then. I just hope they don't notice it on the bill.
I'd like to drop my minute plan from the 900 to the 450, but I know they'll see the MMS and disable it

You can change your minutes online like the above member mentioned. My mms is included in my wifes and i family messaging unlimitef plan. Thats not too expensibe for 20 mms. As soon as i got mine working i looked online for the first few days to make sure i wasnt getting charged extra. It is funny how they dont want you to have mms but yet they are more than willing to take your money for it.

I also use a family messaging plan. Jack made a good point about them charging but not wanting you to have it, lol

I fought the good fight for a while.... now I just do e-mails... it;s cheaper (as in free) and the recipient will still get it soon enough. I have come to my senses and realized that there really never is a case where my picture HAS to be received immediately.

the iPhone text messaging plan is strictly that, text messaging. Since they don't officially support any sort of MMS message why would they include it in the iPhone text messaging plan? If you convince them to switch your plan to a generic messaging plan, or a family unlimited plan, MMS is included in there. The MMS section will still be on your bill, but there will be no charges.
