How is your service since 2.2 ?
Was just wondering how widespread my problem is. Ever since the 2.2 update I get at least one or more dropped calls a day. And the phone will go to no service then back to 5 bars for no reason. Of course at&t says it not the network and apple says its not the phone. But I am getting really tired of it.

I've had bars in places where I used to get no bars. No dropped calls yet.

I get this problem alot. I will have bars then bam im no service then back to full bars. or i will be surfing web with full bars on 3g and bam to edge then straight back to 3g. 2.1 was much more reliable for me. APPLE AND AT&T need to man up and take responsibilty for the problems they are making. they need to fix this pretty fast or else i will be raging up a storm to apple and at&t i will not deal with this ****. they have till the next update till i start the widespead riot.

Mostly everything is fune except my 3G data speed is slow. I used to get good speeds when downloading music via dtunes. Now it is half as fast. I have to turn on wifi to surf the web now.

Works for me
I just went from a 2g to 3g iphone with 2.2. I love the 2.2 3g phone over the 2.1 2g iphone i lost. I was having failed calls, dropped calls, and horrible call quality back on the 2g iphone.
I dunno if it is because the 3g network or the 2.2 update, but whatever it is the iphone is not as useless of a phone for me anymore
. ATT network btw

Yeah if you went from a 2g iphone to the 3g life is good. I live near philly so i think thats why my service is slow at times. Alot of data hogs around here. No biggie. Things will get better, they alway do.

For me dropped calls every now and then. At work I get nothing but EDGE which sucks. People although have been complaining that when they talk to me I sound like I'm in a bad area and cut out. People have to make out what I'm saying.

I've been on 2.2 for about two days now and it's going great. I'll have to see in classes, though, where it usually drops to "No Service".

i have noticed it holds on to a stronge EDGE singal better than a weak 3G now. I do a lot of work in an area that has a strong EDGE but a weak 3G and the phone sits in EDGE all the time now instead of bouncing back and forth.
I have dropped a few calls going between 3G to EDGE on an active call but other than that, it seems pretty good.

MMS and all the functions still work. My GF gets pissed because every other word she can hear on my phone. I'm going to replace my SIM card when I have a chance this week and try that.
