Last night I got on support chat as listed above and told the rep that my internet was acting really slow and some of the business admin programs were not working properly and my IT rep told me I needed to have WAP Push enabled and the setting sent OTA. After about 20 mins he finally told me he did the WAP Push. My MMS still didn't work. After I got home I put my SIM card in a samsung AGH-A117 GO Phone I bought from Best Buy for like $15. At first when I'd go to the MediaNet it would give me the exact message "Error 403 Forbidden" which is what the iPhone does when I'd try and send a MMS. Well after about 15 mins the system detected the samsung IMEI and the MediaNet started to work. I then put the SIM back in my iPhone and MMS works great. After about 15 mins it stopped working so I put back in the samsung... repeated this process about 3 times and for whatever reason my MMS has been working non-stop for about 12 hours now. I don't know if this is because of the WAP Push (which didn't work initially) or because of the switching phones thing. I suggest other people test and see if they can repeat my success.

My plan - Unlimited messaging for families.

I think this has got to be the silliest thing in the world that we have to come up with all these crazy ways to send a [Edit Poseidon - Watch the language] picture from a 400$+ sometimes phone absolutely boggles my mind as to why this wasn't implemented in the first place. stupid apple!!!! and stupid at&t for blocking us.

RWADE - Good effort.
As I stated before....you probably won't get anyone to approve this on your first try, and may not for several more after that. The bottom line (which was evident from the posted chat, and phone coversations in the past) was that they are TRAINED TO TELL YOU "THERE IS NOTHING WE CAN DO". You gotta realize that the Cust Serv Reps have been briefed on the iPhone plans, and the fact that Jailbreaking can open the phone up to MMS. They then must tell them; DO NOT REMOVE THE BLOCK UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. TELL THEM TO OPEN A NEW PLAN FOR THE OTHER PHONE. This other guy that has been helping people out on the forum obviously has access to customers accounts and can log in and remove the block himself. It may be as simple as finding a Cust Serv employee that is NEW or doesnt pay attention to rules, and therefore allows the block removal.

I went through this with the first Rep and politely ended the conversation. On the second call, I made it clear to the next rep that I WOULD NOT be willing to start another plan for the other phone. That was when he suggested removing the block. I played dumb but new as soon as he mentioned that there is a block put on MMS for my plan, that it was going to work. And it DID before I even hung up with him.
Any Rep that tells you DIFFERENTLY is flat out LYING to you. It doesnt matter WHAT plan you're on (keeping the fact in mind that the iPhone plan is the only one that they APPLY a block to).

Play dumb to anything regarding "3rd Party Software" or "Jailbreaking" (i.e. - "what is jailbreaking?) and stick with the story that you have another AT&T phone that you keep for the purpose of sending PIX messages since the iPhone won't.

Something I'm still curious about is using the iPhone on other carriers that don't have "iPhone Plans". One would think (unless APPLE has a behind the scenes deal with other carriers stating: Any of your customers that activate an iPhone on your network must be restricted from MMS) that just jailbreaking, installing SwirlyMMS - and applying the correct settings for the network would do the job.

I just got the super rep from ATT on the online chat who told me it was not possible in their system to remove the block and against their policies.

Also stated that anyone caught doing so would have action taken against them.

My big issue I had with him was that I have a BlackJack II that I was on the same plan with unlimited messaging and I went to the iPhone and now unable to send pictures from my phone when originally I could. He told me its against policy to change the plan and both phones have different feature sets that would prevent both from working.

Lovely!!!!

I would really like to know why the block.
My son doesn't want the iphone because of this.
To reduce overhead my iphone forecast appears to be stormy.
$175 to terminate and then sell the iphone to pay for the bb, hmmmm

Ya they flipped when I told him I tried to use my Blackjack for picture messaging and said that its against their policy to use another phone to access features that are not available on the phone thats on the plan. I told them its not like I am not payin for it. My plan was not changed and I was told when I signed up I can swap SIM cards between phones so why is that now frowned upon. I am going to call back and if I get no where, just gonna ***** and ask why I am paying for something I can not use.

I hope not because I'm really enjoying my MMS working. I send MMS message to people all day just because I can.

I have called cs about 5 times to have them remove the block. They will not and cannot unless the iphone is removed from the account. They told me they dont have the option. But I can still download the settings for mms ota, I just cannot send or recieve messages.

I had the 1500 NON iphone message plan. I just called to switch to the unlimited NON iphone plan. NO PROBLEMS. Customer service did it right away. I guess it's a hit or miss with AT&T. Keep trying till you find the right person to talk to. Good luck.
