Switching from 2g iphone to 36 iphone w/at&t
Yeah so I'm thinking of buying an iphone 3g, selling my old 16gig 2g iphone. The thing is i'm in the middle of a 2 year contract with my 2g iphone w/ edge data plan. My question is, if i sold this iphone, bought a 3g 16gb, unlocked it and popped in my sim card, would data work without using 3g? Also would AT&T force me into getting a 3g data plan for 10 bucks extra

There is no software unlock as of yet. And they we know that you or using a 3G iphone....and thus a new data plan.

They know by the IMEI #...!!!! And you we have to pay the extra money for the data plan!!!!!
