Got a iphone 3g and it got stolen why wont my new Sim Card (From the 3g phone) work in my old iphone what do i gotta do to get it to work thx 4 the help

While it is possible that your sim card was removed for whatever reason while the ohone got stolen it is... not my place to judge. So...

hen you say it doesn't work, please be more specific. You have a 1st gen iphone, that is all we know. If you jailbreak and unlock it I doubt you will have ANY issues using that sim card since ALL sim cards will work. For this reason I am assuming it is not unlocked/jailbroken. Next question is do you want to unlock it? If so, search for an unlocking guide (actually if you just hit "home" at the tope left the two newest articles on the homepage are about the pwnage tool) One is Mac on is PC. Take your pick and have at it. If you want a factory stock way of doing things, have you tried activating through itunes? Not sure if this will work with the newer sims (iphone 3g plans) as I have never tried it. Hell I am not even sure if the itunes activation still works, but it's worth a shot. Easiest and best (IMO) way of doing things is just using the pwnage tool. Your sim will work AND you will have the phone jailbroken/unlocked and be able to do anything that you want with it.

you have to get a new sim from AT&T and they will blacklist the 3g imei so if it is stolen it will be reported. I had to get a new sim when switching from iPhones back on my first gen so you probably will have to as well

I just thought of something, if this does happen and they give you a new sim for the 1st gen phone, do you still have to pay the 3g service fees?

You dont pay 3G "data plan" fees if your using a 2g phone, you will have the 2g plan. You will have to change that with them though.

FYI - the 3G will accept first-gen simcards, however the first-gen will not accept 3G. So in other words, its not backwards compatible.

no just tell them that you do not have the phone anymore and you didnt like it or if it was stolen tell them what happened and they should switch you back to your old plan
