iphone 1st gen and cancel at&t service question

Hello all,

I bought a 1st gen Iphone on ebay, it was originally purchased on 9/12/07. i signed up for at&t yesterday but want to cancel within 30 days, do i have to return the phone to apple or at&t even if I originally didn't buy it from them?

You bought it: its yours.

do you want to cancel the iphone data plan, or the entire contract? either way you'll be able to keep your phone, but you might have to pay a big fee for canceling your contract
