Regular family plan upgrading to iphones

Right now I am in a regular family plan with regular phones, there is 5 members and my mom is the head phone.

However my sister and I are wanting to get the iphone 3g, what I am wondering is because we are upgrading 2 of the phones to iphones will it convert the plan to a iphone plan? Or will we only have to add 30$ a month per iphone?

Each line on the family plan is like a completely SEPARATE account basically, that just shares minutes etc.

You switching to an Iphone will only extend and/or change YOUR number. In other words you will have to add the "iphone plan" for data, etc., to yours and your sisters only. (so 2 iphone plans)

That is correct, Plus a text messaging plan, I am on a family plan and last year that is all we did. On the family plan I recommend the unlimited. ATT used to not let the iPhone use the unlimited family texting but a few months ago they started to.
