Default AT&T Press Release regading iPhone 3G

    Link: AT&T- News Room

I won't go ahead and quote the whole thing, but here's a selection of quotes to hopefully bring down the senseless speculation:

"Under the terms of a new agreement with Apple, AT&T remains the exclusive U.S. carrier of the iPhone 3G, which will be available beginning July 11 at a starting price of $199 with a two-year contract."

With a two-year contract, the price of an 8GB iPhone 3G will be $199; the 16GB model will be priced at $299.
Unlimited iPhone 3G data plans for consumers will be available for $30 a month, in addition to voice plans starting at $39.99 a month.
Unlimited 3G data plans for business users will be available for $45 a month, in addition to a voice plan.

So there you have it. $199/$299 WITH contract and THROUGH AT&T* only.

    * Replace AT&T with whichever other provider is the official provider of iPhone in your respective country.

That sounds pretty water-tight to me. There go my hopes. Now... how much to immediately break said contract? :P
