I have done this on 2 different iphones on 2 different accounts.

1.)Purchase one of those cheap GoPhones and get the IMEI of it

2.)If you already have an iPhone you must call AT&T and tell them that you no longer have the iPhone on your account and you would like to remove the plan...they will ask you for IMEI of your new phone, give them that one of your GoPhone.(By doing this you allow MMS, a cheaper data package, and a cheaper monthly plan!!!)

3.)Change your iPhone's IMEI using ZiPhone to that of the GoPhone you purchased.(After doing so I recommend you put this phone away, since YOU CAN'T NOT USE 2 PHONES WITH THE SAME IMEI...THE ONLY WAY YOU WILL BE ABLE TO USE THE GO PHONE AGAIN WILL BE TO CHANGE YOUR iPHONE'S IMEI TO SOMETHING ELSE.

4.)Install SwirlyMMS and put in the correct MMSC settings.

You now have working MMS, also a cheaper phone bill...I went from $25x to $16x...

BTW this is ATT only...I have not tested this on any other service, since I don't have any other service...

This only works on Bootloader 3.9

Also, in some cases you may have to get a new SIM card

Finally, YOU WILL NO LONGER BE ABLE TO USE VISUAL VOICEMAIL IF YOU DO THIS

Well....after my other iPhone went Toilet swimming I had to get a new sim card anyway....both iPhones I used had BL 3.9(didn't know it made a difference). Also, my voicemail does not work, but I just thought that was a bad jailbreak.....O WELL WHO NEEDS VMAIL? Now when someone calls, and I don't answer...I always respond with "Did it go to vMail? Well you didn't call me..."

Lol, well voicemail will still work. When you hit the voicemail button it calls the voicemail like you would do on a normal celly versus showing visual voicemail.

BUT, with my expierence they turned my voicemail off for some reason. When i called them they fixed it though.

Yes, it still works. As far as AT&T knows you don't have an iPhone so it should always work.

sweet! ive been using mediamax unlim with my iphone for the past 3months with no probs. i initially signed up for a 3125 and got my iphone from craigslist.....what's the cheapest go phone??

This method works as long as you have Bootloader 3.9. This method doesn't work with 4.0. I have no idea what the cheapest GoPhone is. My cousin is a T-Mobile user and she had an old RAZR laying around so i just had her give me the IMEI.

But if I tell AT&T I want to drop the iPhone plan, will I lose anything the iPhone does?

If you drop the iPhone data plan you lose Visual voicemail but it's $5 cheaper as i stated before.

Yes you have to call so they'll unblock your SIM.

i generated an imei based on my original imei and mms has worked for me all week lol

Just out of curiosity (because I don't know), what would happen if you switched your plans, gave AT&T the IMEI of your "other" phone but never faked your IMEI on your iPhone?

Would AT&T be able to track it?

Heres my 2 cts on this whole mess with MMS on AT&T
I have Swirly and have tried forever to get it working..Heres what I tired..

I got a new SIM card...Dropped my iPhone package at the store...added my other phone I had before iphone to the IMEI... MMS still wouldnt work even with old phone, they added pay per and everything, no go. needless to say Swirly doesnt work either. I dont have the iphone package at all, new sim card, new IMEI, all the correct settings in Swirly.... and still doesnt work.

What am I doing wrong and why wont it work?
I jailbreak it thru Winpwn and use that activate to unlock it so it is not registered thru itunes at all.

Any hints?

Also I hesitate to try this method only because I really dont trust Ziphone, if I could change the IMEI without using Ziphone I would be all over it. Ziphone scares me (too many "You been Ziphoned" comments) I alrdy traded Visual Voicemaiul for a standard media pack and saving the $5, just wish I could have MMS..... So badly
