    I received the forced update two days ago on my ip5. I've reverted four times, and it just keeps getting forced onto the phone each time... First it would update as soon as i would go into settings. Also now, as soon as the phone gets unlocked. Could be in line with t-mobile's network modernization to hit 100 pops by summers end and forcing new phones to be compatible with the changes.

    Yes the carrier update is being forced. I have to clean out /User/Library/Carrier Bundles/Overlay and delete the /User/Library/Carrier Bundles/iPhone/TMobile_US.bundle. And also delete the symbolic link at /User/Library/Carrier Bundle.bundle. And then did a Reset Network Settings and then created my own 14.3 bundle and it has stayed so far.

    Looks like it's the list at Apple that enforces carrier bundles: List of Carrier Bundles from Apple (XML)

    Code:
    <key>TMobile_US</key>
    <dict>
    <key>6.1</key>
    <dict>
    <key>BuildVersion</key>
    <string>14.2</string>
    <key>BundleURL</key>
    <string>
    http://appldnld.apple.com/iOS6.1/CarrierBundles/091-7459.20130626.Lk3Er/TMobile_US_iPhone.ipcc
    </string>
    <key>Digest</key>
    <data>3HmOJlEV7qAtyVTw4z++CIgZ3aE=</data>
    </dict>
    <key>ByProductType</key>
    <dict>
    <key>iPhone</key>
    <dict>
    <key>FallbackToByProductVersion</key>
    <true/>
    </dict>
    </dict>
    </dict>
    The digest key enforces the carrier bundle.

    I'm on a non T-Mobile carrier and iOS7. Is there a way to get the 4G icon with a carrier bundle without losing the hostspot? AT&T iPhones show 4G on HSPDA+ so figure this should but just shows 3G

    The Bundle only works with a jailbroken phone with the CommCenter patch. It will not work with non-jailbroken phones because it is not signed.

    No, not unless it's jailbroken. If you are on a non T-mobile carrier, it's using the Unknown Carrier Bundle most likely. 3G and 4G is just the display, there's a line in the Carrier Bundle for Indicator Override. You could set it to 5G if you wanted. It's really cosmetic, unless the phone shifts into LTE or Edge.

    it worked but t-mo keeps overwriting the settings every 3 or so days (OR: if you go Settings ==> About for several seconds)

    In which program did you edit the Revert.ipcc?
    I would like to include my MMS settings somewhere in there if possible so I don't have to manually enter them every time I revert to 14.0

    Thank you!

    I just want the 4G icon and LTE options available but can't unless I'm jailbroken
