iPhone 4 - Just Factory Unlocked with T-Mobile...issue. Help!
Just had it factory unlocked to use with T-Mobile. It is working fine, but I have tried to update the software on the phone (currently 4.2.1) and it will not update. I have tried clicking "Update" and get "The phone, 'iPhone' is not eligible...", tried clicking "restore" and get "The phone, 'iPhone' is not eligible..."...tried putting it in DFU mode and restoring to the same exact thing...totally confused. Not sure why it isn't working.
Please help!

Sounds like your hosts file is messed up. If you have used tiny umbrella before open it, click advanced, deselect the box that says "set hosts to Cydia on exit".
Or you can manually fix it depending on if you are on windows or Mac.
You are trying to restore to 6.0.1 right?

I checked TU and the box is already unchecked.

haha. Ok, yes, I looked at TU and the box for that is NOT checked/selected.
Yes, trying to update the phone is all, to the latest software.
