iPhone 3G orange locked. Jail broken need help to unlock to all networks plz

Hi
My wife had an upgrade a few months ago and gave me her iPhone 3G which is sim locked to orange. It's been sat in a cupboard since, I now have decided to use it but the carrier have informed me that they can't unlock. This is due to the time lapse since the contract was upgraded and I will have to take it to an apple store.
I have jail it and watched you tube videos to try and discover how to unlock it, so my bt sim will work( Vodafone ). It's is version 5.1.1 and on firmware 05.16.05.
Can someone please help.

IMEI unlock may work for ya. Have to look on ebay and see what they have for ya there.
