I am also on the old Tzones.....question:
I'm in an area now where I'm only getting AT&T.....I have "data roaming" turned off...anybody know if I'm charged extra now for using data when on AT&T? I shouldn't be right?

I'm in a small town called Tewksbury, MA and work in Cambridge. Tewksbury shows 5 bars of 3G, Cambridge, 4 bars of E.
Go figure.

I have noticed that there are a lot of areas in Brooklyn, NY where I am getting 3G and some very good speeds. Hopefully by the end of november NYC would have full 3G coverage.

Sorry for being an idiot, but would unlocked iPhone 5 on T-mobile receive 4g?

I don't believe so yet. Tmobile is still in process of switching over towers an should all be running 3g on iPhone . But 4g I am unsure of at this time..

Nope, not an idiot by any means. 4G on these phones operate at a specific band which T-Mo does not yet have. It will most likely require Apple to manufacture these phones to work at T-Mo's freq. I don't see T-Mo applying for those rights (if they can).
That's about what I know to be true.

Tmobile's data service as is, is considered 4G in their eyes due to the speeds it can deliver to devices.

3G coverage in el segundo, ca (near LAX), few parts in Hawthorne, Carson and Compton.( LA county)
As for Orange County, I had a 3G signal in parts of Anaheim, California.
Speed wasn't as good as the other posters. I was only getting 2.5 Mbps to 3 Mbps. But better than just edge.
