Default Will I Get Charged for International Fees with my Unlock iPhone?
    Hey everyone,

I am heading out to go on a cruise next week, and I am bringing my iPhone 4. Its unlocked via Gevey Ultra, and its tethered.

Some of the trip is on US soil so I can use my phone there without international fees charging, but it is also offshore in non US territory.

So when we are going off shore to non US territory, I plan to shut off my phone, then turn it back on and just use it as an iPod basically. I won't be activating the service or anything by doing the whole dial 112 part, so I won't be gathering any service.

So since the service is not on, I won't be getting charged right? It won't be picking up text messages without my knowledge and just doing it so I can't see it right?

So my worries are that it will attract messages since the sim card is in, but not activated. I can't be receiving or sending messages outside the US so I don't get any massive charges. I receive quite a few texts from ESPN each day and I don't want to come home and see any huge bills that have racked up unexpectedly.

So I WONT be texting anything intentionally while off the US soil.

I won't be taking out the sim card because its sort of jammed, so it will stay in, but I won't have it activated.

If I haven't made this clear let me know! Thanks guys.

Just want to get reassured by a few other people if possible.

    Thanks for your response though.

You can always go to settings and disable it
