Default 3G on t-Mo USA now available to some iPhone users.

T-Mobile has activated the 1900 frequency for unlocked phone users out west. Looks like the long wait might be coming to an end. This doesn't just benefit iPhone users but other phones aswell.

    Thought T-Mo was 1700.
Reading more about this, seems it only works in areas in , Cal, (Northern Cal.) and Nevada so far. But still makes me hopeful that it soon will happen. Being an iPhone user on T-Mo (for soon to be 4 years) it really jazzes me that we may see faster speeds. T-Mo states they have over a million iPhone users on their network, just makes sense.

Exactly it's limited now but it's a step in right direction.

Interesting. I'm in Vegas and I turned on 3G switch. Usually this will drop the signal. Now I have a signal but it's edge.

Should I leave the 3GS on or off?

miz, with ATT i leave my 3G on. when i loose 3G signal, it automatically toggles to EDGE. i would think t-mobile would do the same.

Thanks. It used to be that if I turned on 3G, the phone would not work. Guess I will leave it on and bolo for a 3G signal.
