Used SnowBreeze to load custom firmware 5.0.1 on 3GS with old boot rom. Firmware installed fine but I can't get the unlock to work. I have no service no matter what I do. I've 3G and location services turned off. I have installed without sim resprung, turned phone off. inserted sim booted and nothing. I have reset network settings.
it has been updated and just got mines working so go back in cydia and delete the repo and add it again and then look for ultrasn0w and install it and you should be good heres a link to help you
