    Default No data network

I have an iPhone4 [Version 4.2.1 (8C148) / Modem Firmware 01.59.00] which is jailbroken and unlocked on T-Mobile. All was well until I had to restore the phone and now I can make calls and send texts and mms (via SwirlyMMS) but I can not use any of the apps EXCEPT when connected via WiFi.

I called T-Mobile to make sure my settings were correct and they directed me to SETTINGS>> GENERAL>> NETWORK>> APN.... However, there is NO APN tab, only VPN.

Can someone help me so I can use my apps which require connection tot he internet when I am not connected via WiFi?

I should note that I used a friend's AT&T sim card to activate after restore and in GENERAL>> ABOUT>> CARRIER it says "Not available" if that mean anything significant.

Thanks in advance for any help! I have been having to use my iPad when not connected to a WiFi network.

That is strange that the carrier says unavailable. I have the same setup as you (iPhone4 [Version 4.2.1 (8C148) / Modem Firmware 01.59.00] which is jailbroken and unlocked), only difference is i hackivated it then used SAM to officially activate via itunes instead of the at&t sim way.

There is a jailbreak app on cydia that allows manual APN changes if it is not available default like it is supposed to. I can't remember the exact name but I am sure you can find it by searching APN or something like that.

I am able to use EDGE (data network) as well as send MMS the official way with correct inputted APN settings and a tweak called "T-Mobile US MMS Fix for iOS4" from the PushFix repo on cydia.

    I hope that helps.
