Is it worth it?
I have a situation where I need to use T-Mobile for work.
I'm currently on ATT with an iPhone 4, but still have an old 3GS.
It currently is on 4.2.1 on 05.14.04 baseband.
I know this means upgrading with the ipad baseband with custom firmware through redsnow.
My question is, is it worth it? I will need functional mms and internet access through T-mobile and I've read that some people have problems others don't
I just really like the iphone interface and have been using a mytouch slide for tmobile and not very happy with it.
So I have two choices, use the iphone 3gs or change to another phone.
Thanks for the input.

the iPad baseband works fine, as long as you've read everything on the Dev Team blog. GPS, internet, and MMS, all work on multiple iPhones i've done.
I come bearing a gift. I'll give you a hint. It's in my diaper and it's not a toaster.

I have a 3GS on 4.2.1, I can't compare the iPhone to other Tmobile phones but I love it and everything is functional. I don't have the iPad firmware, I'm on 05.13.04 but I have read that some people with it are having GPS issues. One thing that is terrible with this phone is the fact there is no 3G. If you only need Internet for email then your fine, if you depend on it for surfing the internet then I would say get a Tmobile 3G/4G phone because Edge is very slow.

Thanks for the input. Looks like I'll stick with the mytouch 3g. If only verizon had service in the area I could have tried the new 4 out.
