Edge on iPhone 3GS help.
Hello everybody, I'm new to this forum. I browse around every now and then, but just signed up for my own account.
I use to have a unlocked iPhone 3G running 3.1.2 that I was using the T-mobile $10 web2go data plan on and edge worked fine. Now I upgraded to a unlocked 3GS running 4.1 with a 06.15.00 baseband and I can't get edge to work. I used the same internet2.voicestream.com for my cell data APN like I did for my 3G and it still doesn't work. I have to keep my cell data off now whenever i'm not trying to use edge or else I can't receive calls. I've been browsing around trying to find a solution to my problem, but no luck. If anyone can help me then that would be great! Sorry if this topic has been posted before.

Internet2.voicestream.com is the one for web2go. It should work. Have you tried installing a carrier bundle or using unlockit.co.nz via Safari on your phone?

I haven't tried either yet. I don't really know much about messing with the iPhone except downloading stuff from cydia to make the phone look better. What exactly should I do?
edit: I see the T-mobile US carrier bundle on Cydia but I'm scared to download it cause I don't want to mess up any other stuff on my phone.Last edited by JQNguyen; 01-25-2011 at 12:11 AM.

It just started doing it to me too. So what I do is . After u load up ur page in safari . Go into ur sbsettings and toggle ur data off then on. And then it should load up ur page. I don't know the reason but it just started doing it to me and it's pissing me off.sbsettings is a settings from Cydia when u can control certain things with toggles. To activate them u swipe the top of ur iPhone where the time is

That don't matter so am I. If ur on 4.1 ur baseband would be 5.14.02. That's unlockable.. So how ever jailbroken ur iPhone and unlocked it would have had to update ur baseband to 6.15.00 ( iPad baseband) go to settings>general> about> scroll all the way down > look at modern firmware a.k.a baseband

You said you were running on BB 6.15 which is the Ipad 2 BB. Worse comes to worse, these problems you are having could be because of the BB. Thats IMO. But it doesnt hurt to find another solution to this!

No. The only thing it can do is .. If u have a password on ur sim it will ask u to put it in. The way to know if it's going to do that is.. 1.if u enabled it to. Or 2. Is when ever u reboot ur phone has it ever asked u for one.. But don't let that scare u.. U probable don't have one. And worst case u call ur service provider and they give u the password.. But if u never seen this u don't have it enabled..
