3GS @ 4.2.1 battery issue

just update my 3gs from 3.0 to 4.2.1, everything seem to be working like the way it should but only one problem is the battery drain so fast.
When the iphone was in 3.0 version, I had the battery charge to 100%, go to bed at 11:30PM set alarm at 6:30AM, battery drain about 6%. Now, with 4.2.1 version, the alarm can not sound by 6:30 cuz all the battery drain out I don;t even know when maybe around 4-5 o'clock ? How do I fix this issue ? Do I need to do the jailbreal and unlock again ?

I followed instruction on the link you gave, then now when plug to itune it has msg " the SIM card inserted in this iphone does not appear to be supported"
The phone still unlocked, only itune won't reconigze the SIM and I can not sync any apps or music to the phone at all
what I have to do next ?
